A tree uses what comes its way to nurture itself. By sinking its roots deeply into the earth, by accepting the rain that flows towards it, by reaching out to the sun, the tree perfects its character and becomes great. … Absorb, absorb, absorb. That is the secret of the tree.

I am somehow less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Man need only divert his attention from searching for the solution to external questions and pose the one, true inner question of how he should lead his life, and all the external questions will be resolved in the best possible way.

A god can do it. But tell me howa person can flow like that through the slender lyre. Our mind is split. When do webecome one with earth and stars? It is not achieved, young friend, by being in love, however vibrant that makes your voice.Learn to forget you sang like that. A god can do it. But tell me how
a person can flow like that through the slender lyre.
Our mind is split. At the crossroads in our heart
stands no temple for Apollo.

Song, as you teach us, is not a grasping,
not a seeking for some final consummation.
To sing is to be. Easy for a god.
But when do we simply be? When do we

become one with earth and stars?
It is not achieved, young friend, by being in love,
however vibrant that makes your voice.

Learn to forget you sang like that. It passes.
Truly to sing takes another kind of breath.
A breath in the void. A shudder in God. A wind.

Adyashanti - True Meditation 1of3 (by Peace)

February 3rd, 2012

Pro Peace

I am pro-peace and promote a pro-peace future whenever I have the opportunity. I stress the importance of choice regarding war, violence and other related traits long considered to be “just a part of human nature”. Until there is a politician who embraces peace, as a reality, in conjunction with other values I consider to be unbearably sensible, debates about pro/cons of specific politicians are without sense and, I feel, are a distraction from the issues at hand.
